Linking conversations to CRM records
In Dalil, conversations and CRM records are tightly connected.
When you link a conversation to a Person, Company, or Opportunity, the entire message history becomes part of the CRM activity timeline.
This ensures your CRM reflects real interactions instead of requiring manual updates.
Create a record from a conversation
When a conversation is not yet linked to a CRM record, Dalil allows you to create one directly from the thread.
Click Create record at the top of the conversation.
Dalil automatically suggests:
Person name (if detected from the channel)
Company name (if available)
Optional opportunity creation
After confirmation, the record is created and the conversation is automatically linked.
Link conversations to existing records
If a record already exists in your CRM, you can link the conversation manually.
Click Link record and search for the correct item.
You can link a conversation to:
Person
the related Company
and one related Opportunity
Once linked, the conversation appears in the Activity timeline of that record.
Unlinking conversations
If a conversation is linked to the wrong record, you can unlink it.
Unlinking removes the CRM association but keeps the conversation history intact in the inbox.
You can then link the thread to the correct record.
Why linking conversations matters
Linking conversations ensures your CRM remains accurate and complete.
When conversations are connected to records, Dalil can:
Track relationship history
Update activity timelines automatically
Trigger workflows and sequences
Generate AI insights based on real interactions
This transforms conversations into structured CRM data.
Key Outcome
By linking conversations to People, Companies, and Opportunities, Dalil turns everyday communication into structured CRM activity.
Your pipeline, records, and insights stay accurate without manual data entry.
